Justice for Natalee?

I plan on continuing my Australia trip blog posts, but today I got a breaking news alert that I couldn’t believe.

Joran van der Sloot wanted for the murder of a Peruvian woman.

Five years ago I became totally enthralled in the disappearance of Natalee Holloway. I had been an avid crime news follower before then but this case was mesmerising. The beautiful island of Aruba, a powerful judge, his accused son, obsessive news coverage and a missing girl. The Natalee Holloway story was a fixture on cable news and even though I was in Australia, I was hooked.

So now, Joran van der Sloot, the prime suspect in Natalee’s case, is a wanted man in the murder of a young woman in Peru. Watching this unfold is going to be amazing – international law, interpol and a family in America who is still wondering where their daughter is. He is on the run (apparently in Chile) and from the minute news broke on this today, the US news outlets have been reporting constantly.

To track all the cases I follow, I am an active reader on Websleuths which is a huge community of people around the world who all have an interest in true crime stories, theories and trying solving them – especially those that do not get media coverage like Natalee got.

So now… the TV will be running non-stop on Nancy Grace and if she decides to return to what she does best, Greta. Either way, let us hope that he is found soon.

Omg I remember how interested you were in this story and how you have followed it over the past few years.
I do hope justice prevails in the end for this poor family who have been to hell and back.
    Keep me posted Nellie.

I remember seeing a TV show about this guy ages ago and he basically confessed to his friend in the car and they video-taped it. How on earth did he get away with it?!!! Hopefully this time they get him.
