We’ve had two good really good restaurant experiences over the past couple of days.
Yesterday, we went to Bareburger for lunch. We went to the one on 34th and 3rd. The burgers were nice but in my opinion the highlight was the onion rings and the fact I had probably what was close to the best milkshake I have ever had in my life.
This is it… a strawberry shake that was smooth, creamy and just so extravagant even though it was so basic. All organic and all of that stuff… it was just heaven in a aluminium cup.
Here is Bill’s bison burger with maple bacon –
And I got some sliders which were so cute –
Tonight, we went to Teresa’s Restaurant on Montague Street. About a 10 minute bus ride from our place, this area of Brooklyn Heights is gorgeous and it was great trying out a new place. It has diner fare but you don’t go there for diner food. You go there for the polish food.
Our pierogies were oh-my-gosh yum. We both loved the meat ones and promised our waitress that next time we would have the sauerkraut and mushroom variety. The cheese was a bit bland but with the onions it was just beautiful. The potato ones didn’t disappoint at all! This photo does not do these little pockets of love justice –
For our mains, Bill got kielbasa with sauerkraut and noodles and I got the stuffed cabbage with peas and noodles. Little did we know how the sides would come out we would’ve just got a meal to share. So now, we have lunch for tomorrow all set. Bill’s sauerkraut was totally different to anything we had seen before – it had bits of sausage and mushroom in it, but from Bill’s reaction it was really, really good.
It was all wonderful and a nice little gem that was so cheap… we couldn’t go wrong. We especially loved that when we left we walked by two rolling walkers… I think we were the youngest in the restaurant!
