Here are two shots that I forgot to post that I had taken when we were at Doncaster –
I wanted to pack this whole stand in my suitcase.
I love how Twitter is being used as a selling point…!
I forgot to note that in that first week, 2010 also begun. Oops. NYE is a bit of a whatever for me – I don’t really get into it. This year was super exciting though because we had some great great rainfall and it was stinking hot and it was everything that NYE should be – including being asleep by 11.15pm, being awakened by bogan fireworks and then.. because of the storm, our power went out. The best part, we were asleep when this all happened. But then 10 minutes later, the power came back on and for some reason, that caused our doorbell to ring. It is so weird hearing a doorbell ring in the dead of the night. Just wait until it happens to you – it is SPOOKY!
At 4pm on New Years Day, mum and I sat in front of the air conditioner and watched New York ring in New Years. It was funny watching it knowing that Bill was just 20 blocks away and… sleeping.
So this is how I experienced NYE in Times Square –
Later that night we got another awesome storm. Birds had stopped chirping and the sky changed to the eerie orange colour that happens so frequently before storms where all the colours in the garden change vividly.
This is how the sky looked from the back verandah…
And another…
Instead of looking to the left, I looked to the right – totally different sky…
My feet on the cool grass. No editing done at all – everything was this orange!
Then the sky turned to this colour before the rain –
