Somehow I thought this year would pretty chill because the wedding is basically organized. It has ended up being the exact opposite. To put it mildly, I am basically fully booked up.
So as well as going to Australia in December/January we are going for nearly three weeks in April.
During this time we will be –
– having a HUGE party
– travelling the Great Ocean Road and staying in the Otway Lighthouse
– going to Tasmania
– going to Sydney
– going to the Central Coast
– going to two Collingwood games – Vs Hawthorn and the Anzac Day game
– seeing Melbourne itself
– going to Phillip Island, Ballarat, Puffing Billy, Parliament etc.
– doing lot of exploring!
It is a full itinerary and part of the reason I spent so much time visiting and catching up with people in January. Apart from the party, that will basically be it for catching up for people. We really need an actual holiday and I want Bill to see as much of Australia as possible to experience it. I’ve been somewhat aloof because it is going back to everything I know.. but then I think about how for Bill, this is a huge overseas trip and his first time experiencing Australia. And of course… he will be trying thingslike potato cakes, Big M’s and hopeless public transport. When I think about that… I get SO excited!
Before we go, we are moving. Everything with moving here is left to the last minute. We are getting all new furniture, a new bed etc so it isn’t a simple move – as we need an actual place to move something to before we order it all. You don’t start seriously looking until 3 weeks before you want to move. Eeekk! So I have to-do lists coming out of my ears. I can’t take any leave at work so we will be trying to do this on random weekend days. As well as clearing out this place. Oh my – we are going to be going right to the last minute.
Then when we get back from Australia we have a few weeks, then it is Bill’s 40th, which we will be celebrating in Albany,
Then we have our Pre-Cana day (also in Albany) which means another weekend Upstate.
Then I will start getting my dress altered (also in Albany) and doing all the final wedding prep of everything that can’t be done now. Sending the invites, the RSVPs and all that fun stuff. (There is a wedding update post coming up soon.)
Then work is crazy in August/September/October – as that is the lead up to the Benefit Dinner… which is two weeks before the wedding!!
Then when all this is going on, there is also Collingwood! And Summer! And planning Mum, Dad and Matthew’s holiday over here! And then having them come over to stay with us.
Ohhhh it may be busy but… I cannot wait!!! Once we are in the new place I will be a lot more chilled – I just want to get that over and done with and get some room!!
