I have finally got the time to do the video tour of the new apartment and share some photos of our new neighbourhood.
To say we love the place is an understatement. The apartment is roomy, renovated and so quiet. Stepping out into our street in the morning is a pleasure – no crazy taxis and tourists lurking around the front door. This is just a beautiful piece of New York that we can now call home.
It has been fun getting to know the area so far but we cannot wait to get back from Australia and have some local adventures. The Brooklyn Flea is one block away, we have a Saturday green market every weekend, our own CSA, there are great restaurants, a lovely little supermarket and just beautiful homes all around us with the subway 2 minutes away. I feel very spoiled but in a nutshell we are so happy with how everything with the move has gone. Brooklyn definitely feels like the right place for us. And did I tell you about the room we have? Basically, compared to where we were, this feels like a mansion! It is amazing what you appreciate when you have not had more than a tiny workspace to prepare dinner on and you are used to checking the microwave clock for the time from bed. This feels like a real little home and we love it! The photos coming were taking on two separate weekends – as you can tell, one was drizzly, the other in brilliant sunshine.
Here are some photos of the foyer of the building – it is a bit strange but so cosy!

The Associated – no, it isn’t a nightclub, it is our little supermarket. About the size of a small IGA.
