I was trying to work out how best to blog about our trip. I intend on doing day 1, day 2 and following on like that – just to give you an idea of our crazy travel schedule that I concocted.
First off, I wanted to start out with a blog of photos from the party. And then I’ll get back to the flight and each day after that. We landed on the Saturday and the party was on the Sunday. It was madness but such a wonderful day!
Mum, dad and Matthew (with the help of many friends and neighbours!) put the whole thing together. A note for when you look at the photos – everyone had name tags that I had made earlier and I didn’t make them for Bill and I… Bill wanted them so badly he wrote his own as ‘Guest of Honour’ and I was merely ‘Bill’s Fiancee’. đ
So here are a selection of some photos from the day… thanks so much to Warbo for taking these! There are literally hundreds more that I will upload onto Flickr but I just wanted to get the blog posts moving along.
Everyone… welcome Bill to the Cleary Family!
I will always be a Daddy’s girl…!
Bill and Mum
Bill and his girlie.
Alison, Nadine, James, Chris and Jill.
Soon to be brothers..
The band… on the back verandah!
The backyard early in the day. We had the garage full, an area at the side of the garage, the marquee and inside the house to fit everyone in.
Mum, Matthew and Dad.
Ad Altiora! Di, Bernadette and I.
Warbo put a cauli in his trolley and came up to Melbourne with his camera in tow! Thanks Warbo!
Victoria – no-one else knows how to accessorise like Victoria does!
For our many years of friendship, Ev and I have like zero photos together. And it isn’t because he barracks for Carlton and ditched his iPhone for a BlackBerry and actually came to the airport when we landed to tell me!
Luke and Bernadette.
Tony and Rose – our neighbours (in Melbourne… not from Brooklyn!) who made the most amazing pizzas and bruschetta for everyone!
Cousin Grant with Shelley and Caleb and Chloe.
My gorgeous cousin Lateesha.
I love these crowd shots. This was getting towards the end of the night. A lot of the people that came during the day had left so we managed to squeeze everyone into the back of the house while we cut the cake and we said some speeches.
I love this photo with Nina and her gorgeous family!
When we finished the cake cutting, Matt had the band play the song ‘Wedding Bell Blues’ by the 5th Dimension – the one from the My Girl soundtrack. With the first verse being –
Bill, I love you so, I always will
I look at you and see the passion eyes of May
Oh, but am I ever gonna see my wedding day
I was on your side Bill when you were loosin’
I never scheme or lie Bill, there’s been no foolin’
But kisses and love won’t carry me till you marry me Bill!
Umm.. thanks Matt! đ But here is mum and dad dancing to that song… I love this photo!
This one is here because it makes mum cry. Every time!
There were also A LOT of hugs going around. Seriously, that free hugs guy would have loved spending Sunday afternoon with us!
Bill being all mushy.
And there are way too many pics of me looking just like this floating around…
