Sally and Steph were last night conversing on Twitter about their knitting projects – with winter starting in Melbourne, it is perfect! I’m not a knitter but I wish I was going to be at morning tea in the library to check out their projects!
Spooky thing is, when I was back in Melbourne, I found my old Myer bag of cross stitch stuff and bought it back over with me and have been stitching during my lunch hour and doing a bit at night before bed.
I’m doing just a little fruit bowl hanger cross stitch at the moment to get back into it –
The funny thing is, mum was working on a huge kookaburra cross stitch project about 20 years ago and we would keep it behind the couch and it was maybe a quarter done. I thought a great idea would be for me to bring it back here and work on it over summer when I like to hibernate. When I asked mum about it she said just a few weeks ago she passed it on to our friend Tracy to work on. Tracy is an amazing crafter and I wish her and Sally got to meet at the party as they both do great projects! So in a nutshell, at least after 20 years of the kookaburra being stored, it is now in good hands!
I have some ones I want to get done for Christmas and there are some great cross stitch sites over here and supplies are cheap cheap cheap so I am going to revamp my stuff and get cracking. It is such a relaxing thing to do at lunchtime and helps rest my eyes from the screen.
