Obviously I have some confusing alliances when it comes to following sports with national representation. Now that the World Cup is here, I deal with this in much the same way as I did with the Olympics and Winter Olympics.
If it is USA Vs anyone – I am Team USA.
If it is Australia Vs anyone – I am Team Australia.
If it is Australia Vs USA – I am Team Australia.*
*This is with some clauses to be fair to Bill as we are more often than not, sitting in the same room. The clauses are that I promise not to be smug, dance around in front of the TV when we win or do things like yell “HA HA HA!” when we are in front and other antagonistic behaviour. Bill is very good with watching sports but the Collingwood supporter in me comes out way too often. So I try to behave myself and be a good sport. This is also a rule during Yankees Vs Red Sox games.
