On my walk to and from work I have recently rediscovered Powderfinger. They have just always been there on my tape desk/walkman/disc man/stereo/iPod/iPhone and I almost feel like I have taken advantage of their songs over on. They come on and I really have not been giving them the attention they deserve. Just because they have always been there.
I first discovered them in 1996. I remember the days when I’d listen to JJJ religiously and I first heard Pick You Up and I was sold. Ever since then I’ve not been their biggest fan but I love their songs. They are reliable and I usually go through phases where I’ll listen to them non-stop for a few days then nothing for a few months.
Anyway, the ‘finger have ended up being the perfect walking music. Of course, These Days reminds me of Two Hands. My Happiness reminds me of doing homework. Bless My Soul reminds me of the awesome Across the Great Divide tour that Miss Francesca and I went to and had an awesome time. It ROCKED.
They are just about to go on their final tour after calling it a day and if you want to discover more of Powderfinger, get on You Tube and check out the amazing quality vids that someone has put up from the Across the Great Divide Tour. Here is one of them –
