With James Freud passing away this week, I have spent too much time this week playing them again.
I have loved the Models for so long. I was so lucky to see James play twice – at the Mushroom Records anniversary concert at the ‘G and then at the Countdown Spectacular in 2006.

In playing on YouTube looking at old Models film clips I came across this rare footage of James Freud and Michael Hutchence mucking around. It captures a certain spirit of Australia in the 80s so perfectly –
And now they are both gone.
James’ two books I Am the Voice Left from Drinking and I Am the Voice Left from Rehab were both fantastic reads. In the category of drug laced, alcohol fueled and full on rock and roll autobiographies go – I actually rate them both above Scar Tissue. It is strange because after reading both of them, I envisaged him living long and prospering and yet this week, he decided to cut that short.
