St Patrick’s Day

Posted on March 17, 2011March 20, 2011 by Jenelle

Being in New York, St Patrick’s day is a bit insane to say the least. I trodded off to work and thankfully the weather was still cool enough to wear one of my favourite cardigans of all time… my LL Bean Popcorn Stitch Green cardi!

St Patrick's Day 2011

In our work cafeteria they went all out for lunch. Shepherds Pie, corned beef, irish stew, Guinness and onion soup, sides of brussel sprouts, boiled taters and carrots and also ‘Green Velvet’ cupcakes.

I am also 99% sure I am the only person in the New York who wears the 2011 Collingwood membership lanyard for their work ID. Go Pies!

On St Patrick’s night had my shift at the Brooklyn Public Library – the sun was shining and the one blessing for the day was that now that daylight savings has started I didn’t feel so weary walking to the bus stop in the dark. This week was again busier than I would’ve liked considering it is Lent but I think being so busy is a good thing as I lapse very easily into coming straight home and wasting time. So I feel like my hours are being used more productively which has ended up being a nice reflection of Lent so far.
