One of the most wonderful parts of our wedding day happened to take place afterwards!
For our gift, the Johnson’s hired out the Castleton Ambulance and threw us a karaoke/pizza party. This was perfect because the wedding finished early and it allowed us to be at a place that had lots of room, we could be loud and noisy and would allow everyone to hang out some more.
It was SO MUCH FUN!
We went back to the Van Schaack house and got changed and got to Castleton at about 7.30. We could hear the music from outside it was so loud! No-one was singing any karaoke yet – but everyone had done such an amazing job at putting the party together – it was fantastic!
I had never sung karaoke before, but Bill stole the show by getting up there first and singing You’re nobody ’til somebody loves you. Awwww! He was FANTASTIC!!!
Before long everyone was up, doing their thing!
Mum decided to get up and make a dedication to Bill and I by having me join her in singing We’ve only just begun by the Carpenters. This was mum and dads wedding song… awwww. Before long.. Matthew and dad were up there too. Bill happened to film the WHOLE thing and it is super funny. See us all in action!
Dan, Paula, Steve and Colette entertained us with Take a chance on me by ABBA and also the YMCA. Rob did the most amazing rendition of The Devil went down to Georgia. Emily and Rebecca blew the roof off with Sin Wagon. Matthew became a one-man-INXS-show when he sang Need You Tonight. Bill and I did a duet of Summer Nights. Dad sang a solo of the Bee Gees Lonely Nights. Then I channeled my inner Janis Joplin and sang Me and Bobby McGee. Karaoke is ADDICTIVE!
It was such a great way to hang out with everyone and it went way too quickly.
Here is Bill and I all ready to go to the party –
Bill and I singing ‘Summer Loving’. We really were Danny and Sandy! Ha!
It wouldn’t be an American party if there weren’t red cups… here are Robert and Matthew bonding over beer pong. Yes, we kept it totally classy!
It really was fantastic and just awesome to have such a relaxing, happy end to such a special day. It was the best idea and we are so thankful for having such wonderful people organize it for us.
