I really lucked out with the hair and makeup aspect to the wedding. I needed someone who would travel to where we were and was able to do their thing in the comfort of the Van Schaak house.
Not living closely meant I relied on the internet. I chose Amy Elizabeth for our makeup and Timeless Updos for our hair. I did not organize a trial for hair or makeup. I sent Amy a close up photo of my skin and let her know the foundation shade I use. For Timeless Updos, all they knew was my length of hair.
The main issue was getting a style that would suit the veil. These people know what they are doing so I told them to simply do what they thought best as I really wasn’t fazed either way.
When I looked in the mirror, I couldn’t believe how my hair turned out. I was so so so happy! The hair style felt natural and comfortable, suited my face and the dress and lasted all day. The makeup was stunning and natural. I also loved that the makeup on Rebecca (who is 17) was especially age appropriate – the girls looked gorgeous. I wholeheartedly recommend them both – it was so chilled and relaxed while we were getting ready and was the perfect start to the day!
