So it is the eve of my next trip and it only feels like last week, not last year that I was preparing for the Edinburgh/USA adventure.
Today I finished my last reference request at 4.45pm. At 5.30pm (yes I love to get an adrenaline rush) I handed in my final three papers – so all up 6 subjects completed in about five months – now I get about 2.5 days free until I start thinking homework again for another 6 months. The good news is, I was home in my PJs by 6.15. Ahhhh!
This trip will be a mix of study and fun which should be an interesting combination and I am assuming, will result in some different blog posts than the usual for the first two weeks. I fly out direct to LA then have a connection to DC. Leaving here tomorrow it will be 35, landing in Washington DC it will be -3. So I am left carrying my polar fleece around Tullamarine in a flustered state. Eeek!
Some changes out of the ordinary this time include-
*I now have an e-passport.
*Making use of the 2 bags of 32kgs packing limit to save getting busted for excess luggage on US domestic flights.
*The Macbook is coming with me.
*I booked my Qantas flight through AA – this has been a first but saved me approx. $600. Will post of any hassles I may get along the way.
*First flight on Alaskan Airlines and also Hawaiian Airlines.
*I have to do the dreaded flight change in Sydney on my way home. Torture.
*I have prebooked my inflight entertainment on both the Alaskan Airlines flight and the Jetstar flight home from Hawaii. Will be interesting to see if this even works.
*I am investing in a T-Mobile wireless account to make use of the Macbook in various places that will keep me warm.
*I am going to really try and photograph every inflight meal I get.
I’ll be mobloggling lots. Click here to see my pics.
But more importantly, if you want to see what movies I will be watching click here. If you can recommend any, please do!
