On Thursday night we decided to walk home from work. The weather has been so gorgeous -anything about 75F is too hot… the past few weeks have been perfect! The walk home is about 6kms and it really is a nice walk. I decided to take some dodgy iPhone photos along the way because there was a fair bit going on. Just a normal walk home from work and this is what we encounter…
We got to Broadway and encountered a huge education protest that had just left City Hall. They were loud and there were lots of police trying to ensure that traffic wasn’t delayed any more than it had to be.
This is for Pa as it has a little bit of Century 21 in it.
After walking up Broadway, we turn off to walk towards the Brooklyn Bridge. This is City Hall –
Then here are the loony doomsday protesters that are all over the place at the moment telling us that the world is going to end in a couple of weeks. At least if it does end I am at peace knowing that I mopped the floors this weekend.
This wasn’t the first time I’d walked across the Brooklyn Bridge but it was particularly packed with tourists as it was such a lovely day. Between them, people selling dodgy stuff and so many slow walkers my patience was tested plenty of times!
You can just see the Statue of Liberty in the distance –
Bill was leading the way –
Ahh yes – Brooklyn! How sweet it is!
Some guys were shooting hoops –
Walking along, nearly home… here is Fort Greene Park –
