This is a little detour of a post because I want to recommend a book that I haven’t even read yet.
When we were driving from Parkes to Canberra the only station we could get on the car radio was ABC Radio National. They had a segment where Justine Clarke was reading an excerpt from a book. I missed the title but we both loved it – it was beautifully written and we didn’t want the segment to end. After searching I found out it was Worse Things Happen at Sea by William McInnes and Sarah Watt.
There is a very sad story associated with Sarah and The Age has a special article today that also discusses the book.
I didn’t get a chance to buy the book while I was there so I’m going to try and get it online (it has not been released in the US) but just from the little bit we heard, it is a wonderful story and after reading the article hopefully you’ll feel the same way.
