With the overload of Halloween spookiness going on lately, it forced me back to the local library to pick up some RL Stine Fear Street books. I love the whole series and have been reading them for nearly 20 years now. They are ones that I always find myself reading again and again. The are the perfect read as I have normally finished them in a few hours and also, they are small paperbacks so they fit into my bag easily! Funnily enough though, I am not into any other horror books or vampire stuff or anything like that. Just Fear Street!
I only just found out that in 2005, RL Stine released a new trilogy called Fear Street Nights. I just read Book 1 over the weekend and picked up books 2 and 3 from the library today. Funny thing about all of the Fear Street series is that I have never bought one of the books – have only ever been ones that I got from the library.
Also – I can take a trip into American suburbia from right here in Brooklyn… and it used to be Melbourne. There is always a mention of cheerleader Corky Corcoran and Pete’s Pizza and the Division Street Mall. If you like Young Adult fiction and don’t mind blatant product placements like “Sandy got a Mountain Dew out of the refrigerator…” you should read them! Or.. are you already a fan and it is your secret guilty pleasure?
Anyway, who can resist any books with covers like these?!
