For ten years I was living in Melbourne and also – a loyal subscriber to Yankee Magazine.
I fell in love with New England on my first visit back in 1999. Every year after that, one issue of Yankee Magazine would send me bananas. The annual fall foliage issue.
I would look at the pictures in awe – villages in Vermont, country stores and harvest shots.
Well this weekend, my dream to see fall foliage in Vermont is coming true… and the foliage is in peak RIGHT NOW! Woooohoooo! We are spending this Columbus Day long weekend leaf peeping in what is truly absolutely beautiful countryside.
Last year I did a mini foliage trip to Poughkeepsie that was well documented here on the blog.
So the plan is we are off to New Jersey to pick up our hire car, driving to Albany tonight and staying with Dan and Paula and then, Saturday morning we are up on out of Albany and on our way through some of the most beautiful scenery I am sure I am ever going to see in my lifetime.
You can see the Yankee Foliage map here.
And yes, my fall foliage outfit is making another appearance.
