Posted on August 12, 2010August 12, 2010 by Jenelle

On the Friday of my first week at the new job, I was walking along Water Street in my usual hurry to get the train when I heard “Hey… that is Jenelle!” I turned around to see Berry and Ave walking down the street… WHOA! In this city of millions of people, just ‘bumping in’…

Jenelle Day

Posted on August 11, 2010August 11, 2010 by Jenelle

The Saturday before I started at Stroock, I needed (another) Jenelle Day. The awful/mean/rude plumber was coming back to try and fix the shower again (he actually did fix it this time) so I needed to be out of the apartment because I could not bear the thought of having to spend time in the…

Ok. Where do I start?

Posted on August 11, 2010 by Jenelle

I would need a crazy amount of posts to describe the past four weeks. It has been Intense. Yes, it deserves a capital I. First things first. Everyone who knows me knows how much I truly detest summer. This summer has been truly horrid. We have had our air conditioner going every minute we are…

Our 4th of July

Posted on July 5, 2010July 5, 2010 by Jenelle

So the 4th of July has come and gone and it was a wonderfully relaxing day. We started early at Mass and then dropped into the Associated to get some ice and come home to pack all of our picnic. We spent Saturday afternoon doing bits of cooking and cleaning to makes sure Sunday would…

Friday as Jenelle Day

Posted on July 5, 2010July 5, 2010 by Jenelle

I decided to make last Friday ‘Jenelle Day’ and it was great getting so much done! By 10.30am I had done three loads of washing, moved over Bill’s domain name, website and began transferring mail from server to server and was all showered and dressed. I then posted mail, dropped off dry cleaning and then…

A loaf of bread, a container of milk and a stick of butter…

Posted on July 3, 2010 by Jenelle

One thing that I love about living here is that it is like Sesame Street has come alive and everything I remember from childhood and watching Sesame Street in a different country is REAL. I remember when I first saw a row of brownstones my first thought was “Sesame Street!” and it still happens today….

Party Photos

Posted on June 27, 2010 by Jenelle

I am a bit all over the place with #blogeverydayofjune – some days I did two pots so I am not going to backdate these posts – I’ll move forward but I’ll easily make the 30 post target! I have spent this morning finally uploading photos from the Engagement/Meet Bill party in April. You can…

Heart Walk – done!

Posted on June 25, 2010 by Jenelle

On Thursday night, Bill and I gathered in downtown Manhattan with thousands of other people to participate in the Heart Association’s Wall Street Heart Run and Walk. While it was hot and humid and pretty uncomfortable standing around waiting for it to start, it was fantastic to see so many people out in force to…

Posted on June 20, 2010November 29, 2010 by Jenelle

On Saturday we had our Pre-Cana day at the Albany Diocesan offices. You must complete a Pre-Cana course to be married in the Catholic church so we booked in as soon as we had our first meeting with Fr Joe. It was not what I expected at all as there were A LOT of couples…

Best summer movie release – EVER!

Posted on June 18, 2010June 18, 2010 by Jenelle

Years ago, I went to a Sound of Music singalong screening. It was one of the best nights ever. Sal and Fiona were there, mum, Aunty Marg and others. We dressed up as brown paper packages tied up with string. And we sung. And sung. And sung. Last night when I got home, Entertainment Weekly…
